Cobar Basin – gold, copper, lead, zinc & silver
The Cobar Basin is a world class mineral province with a long history of mining and exploration extending from 1869 to 2024 and remains highly prospective for major new discoveries. This province is the richest polymetallic basin in the Lachlan Orogen and is host to many world-class gold and base metal deposits including CSA, Endeavor, Peak, Perseverance and smaller deposits such as Nymagee, Hera and Manuka.
PBIX is an active explorer in the southern and central Cobar Basin where it has a substantial tenement holding of approximately 1,900 km2, one of the largest in this mineral province. The portfolio covers part of a prospective, underexplored area of the Cobar Basin where a number of significant recent polymetallic deposit discoveries have been reported. Current exploration is focussed on multiple targets where drilled high-grade mineralisation has been intersected within large mineralising systems in favourable geological settings .
PBIX has a number of drill-ready, priority projects:
- Mt McKellar
- Blue Mountain
- Burthong
- JT Gossan
- Mountain Tank
